“Two-way work, tools that lighten the load, and self-acceptance.”

Session languages: English
People come to me with anxiety, stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, grief and loss, and life transitions. Some of you spent years reading the room before you read yourself. You may have learned early to keep the peace, smooth things over, or say you are fine long after you stopped meaning it. That habit may have kept you safe once. Now it can be why you feel exhausted, unseen, or unsure of what you actually want.
I work with adults, one to one. I also work with people who shrink themselves to stay agreeable, at work, at home, and in relationships, and who want to find out what it feels like to take up space.
The center of my practice is humility and transparency. I want your story heard, in a two-way conversation. I listen with openness and empathy. I offer tools that lighten the weight on your shoulders, and skills that help you move toward self-acceptance. We notice patterns together, in real time, including the ones that show up between us. You can disagree and ask for something, and the relationship holds. Building self-compassion is foundational. Self-compassion is not selfish.
With Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, you can learn to accept inner thoughts and emotions instead of denying or avoiding them, and to let your values guide the next action. I also use humanistic approaches: Gestalt, client-centered, existential, and narrative work, with attention to your strengths. I balance more directive and less directive moments, so there is room to talk about what you feel and room to learn a coping tool. Brainspotting uses the visual field to work with trauma and emotional pain from the past. I use it case by case, and it is not always a fit for meeting online.
Sessions are virtual. You will want a private, comfortable place and a reliable connection.
We start with a consultation, so we can talk about what you need and whether the way I work is a fit. If we continue, sessions are virtual, on a telehealth platform.
I work best with adults who are carrying anxiety, stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, grief, or a life change. That includes people who have spent years keeping the peace and saying they are fine, and who are ready to take up more space. I also work with highly sensitive people, and with caregivers who set their own mental health aside. Burnout, caregiver stress, codependency, depression, family conflict, parenting stress, relationship issues, and women's issues are also among the concerns I work with. The fit is someone who wants to be heard, and who wants both room to talk and a practical tool.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. My BA in Communications is from Bethel College in Newton, Kansas. My practice now is online therapy with adults in Colorado.
