Counselling Psychologist
“I help you tap into your inner resources and find more clarity”
Online
Session languages: English, ไทย
When I was 8, I was diagnosed with ADHD and a learning disorder. Support from people around me carried me through suicidal thoughts and anxiety. Today I hope I can be that support for you as well. Please call me Palm.
My goal as your therapist is to help you tap into your inner resources, find greater clarity and purpose, and ultimately live a more fulfilling life. My heritage is Thai, Vietnamese, Laotian, and Chinese, and it helps me appreciate multiculturalism, diversity, and family dynamics.
I bring an open-minded and sensitive approach that blends cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, and internal family systems, alongside mindfulness. I may also challenge your thoughts, so you can see perspectives you may not have considered before.
I do not use one method for every person. Counselling, as I practise it, is personal, and we build an integrated approach around your history, your needs, and your goals. I serve as an honest mirror, so you can see the issue and the goal more clearly.
I am open-minded and culturally sensitive, which matters when your background and mine are not the same.
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is part of that blend too.
General information from Kyan about each method, not a description of how Pannavat works.
Relaxation techniques, such as breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation and calming imagery, help the body and mind wind down. Practised regularly, they can lower tension and make stress, anxiety and sleep problems easier to manage. They are often taught as skills you can use on your own between sessions.
Gestalt therapy focuses on what you are experiencing here and now: thoughts, feelings, body sensations and the way you relate to others in the moment. Through conversation and sometimes small experiments, you become more aware of your patterns and can try new ways of responding. It is used for a wide range of personal and relationship difficulties.
Coaching is goal-oriented support for personal or professional growth. It focuses on where you want to go and the steps to get there, drawing on your strengths and resources. Coaching is not psychotherapy and is not a treatment for mental health conditions.
Counselling gives you time to talk through what is on your mind with a trained professional who listens without judging. It can help you make sense of your feelings, see your options more clearly and find your own way forward. It is often used for life changes, stress, loss and relationship difficulties.
Systemic and family therapy looks at difficulties in the context of the relationships around you: your family, partner, work or friends. Patterns between people, rather than one person alone, become the focus of the work. It can be used with individuals, couples and whole families.
Crisis intervention is short-term support in an acute crisis, such as a sudden loss, a shock or a situation that feels overwhelming. It focuses on steadying things, getting through the next days and finding support, rather than on longer-term therapy. In an emergency, always contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
Body-oriented and somatic therapies work with the body as well as the mind: breathing, posture, movement and physical sensations. Feelings and experiences often show up in the body, and paying attention to them can help release tension and settle stress. They are often used for stress, anxiety and the after-effects of trauma.
Art therapy uses drawing, painting, sculpting and other art forms as a way to express and explore feelings. You don’t need any artistic skill: what matters is the process and what it brings up, not the result. It can help when things are hard to put into words.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The adults run from junior programmers and apprentices to executive directors, and from partners to parents. People have come from the UK, Europe, the USA, Ghana, Turkey, India, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.
I bring personal experience of ADHD and a learning disorder. I bring cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness, through thought-provoking questions, reflections, and practical tools.
I have presented to corporate audiences at Microsoft and Hitachi. I am registered with the HCPC as a Counselling Psychologist.
