“We look at the situation and look for a solution that fits.”

Session languages: English, Deutsch
Much of my work has been with athletes.
As a teenager I travelled because I wanted to become a tennis professional. At the start I hardly spoke the language, and I missed my friends and my family. I took that on with a heavy heart, and I was also glad to do it. I still love sport, and I am fascinated by how much a person's mental state can decide success or failure. Those experiences help me understand what competitive athletes live through, and they help me meet them at eye level.
In the hour I try to be a neutral observer. A trusting relationship is the basis, and the tone I want is appreciative.
We look at your situation, and we look together for a solution that fits.
With athletes, that conversation is about the mental side of performance, and about the pressure around it. I come from competitive sport, including two years at a sports boarding school in Barcelona while I was trying to become a tennis professional. That is why I try to meet you at eye level, and why I do not treat the strain of that life as a small thing.
The same way of working applies when the pressure is not only about sport: stress, or a large change in life. What I want you to leave with is a clearer picture of your situation and a solution we have looked for together.
I work with athletes, and with people who feel under constant pressure, who are stressed, or who are in a large change. The relationship I am aiming for is trust, at eye level, from someone who has lived inside competitive sport. The people I have spent the most time with are athletes.
I grew up in a sporting family, and I spent two years at a sports boarding school in Barcelona, hardly speaking the language at the start and missing my friends and my family. That is the basis for meeting athletes at eye level.
In 2024 I completed a Doctor of Public Health at the Medizinische Fakultät, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. I have worked mainly with athletes in handball, football, tennis, fencing, and athletics. I have also co-authored papers on digital mental health services.
