Licensed Clinical Psychologist
“Collaborative, practical therapy when you want a clear path.”
Online
Session languages: English
I tailor treatment to each person's needs, goals, and circumstances, whether you are seeking relief from current symptoms or hoping to make longer-term changes. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based psychological treatments.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist, and I founded my private practice in South Florida. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and I completed my undergraduate studies in Canada before moving to South Florida. Since then I have become a father, started this practice, and become a US citizen.
I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space, using mindfulness and practical strategies.
The approach I use is eclectic: existential and person-centered perspectives, with components of cognitive behavioral therapy. Alongside that I use mindfulness and practical strategies. We explore what is contributing to the difficulty, and we work on coping strategies and skills.
With anxiety, we look at tools that can help you regain a sense of calm and control. With couples, I support communication, conflict, and a closer connection. With grief, sleep, substance use, and depression, the work is practical and aimed at what is weighing on you now.
I see individuals and couples, adults and older adults. People come with anxiety, depression, grief, sleep issues, substance use, relationship challenges, adjustment, and phase-of-life problems. I am an ally to gay, lesbian, non-binary, and queer clients. The work fits someone who wants to understand patterns, build coping strategies, and feel more confident and in control. It also fits someone who wants relief from current symptoms or a longer-term change.
I want you to feel understood and respected, and to have a clear path. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida, and I hold PSYPACT authority for interjurisdictional telepsychology, mobility number 15559. Confidentiality, creativity, compassion, and acceptance are the values I put on the work.
My Bachelor of Business Administration is from Wilfrid Laurier University. My BA in Psychology, magna cum laude, is from York University. My Florida psychologist licence number is PY10150. I have provided individual and group therapy in university and community mental health clinics and in regional and state psychiatric hospitals, and I now see people in private practice.

Introductory call
A short first conversation to see whether we are a good fit.
The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way, teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Counseling is confidential. You will not have to worry about others knowing your business. If you have been confiding in a friend or family member through a very hard time, there is a risk that once you feel better you start avoiding that person so you are not reminded of it. In our work I will help you identify your strengths and how to use them.
It is not possible to say in general how long counseling will take. Everyone's circumstances are their own. The length of time depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that brought you in. Because each person has different issues and goals, what we do in sessions depends on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. Your active participation and dedication will matter for what you get from the work.
